Football season is once again upon us, and if you’re like me, you’re surrounded by football-loving boys and men in your life and feel a bit left out.  I’m much more at home in the kitchen than I am in front of the TV watching football on Sunday afternoon.  I wish I could get excited about the game but, alas, I just can’t get into it!  I end up feeling a bit left out, so I decided to look around for a project that would connect my world of baking and cooking with that of the football-lovers in my life.  This video about making an authentic-looking football cake caught my eye immediately.  It really is a remarkable likeness, but after I saw the effort needed to get this result, I have to admit that it’s not something I’m quite ready to undertake!  Maybe if my husband’s team makes it into the Super Bowl (he’s a Steelers fan), I’ll dig in and make it for our inevitable Super Bowl party.  We’ll see!!  In the meantime, take a look for yourself, and let us know if you have what it takes to tackle this big boy – pun very much intended!!!
