Happy May 4th everybody! Now, I DO understand that most of you out there who are interested in this blog might be scratching your head at the moment, but here at Sweet & Savory Recipes, we believe that food is one of those things that brings everyone together, no matter their background. Basically, today is Star Wars Day! I LOVE Star Wars and I’m sure there are plenty of other galls like myself who do too! To celebrate this special day in geek culture, I’m bringing to you a series of recipes based on the Star Wars universe that EVERYONE will love! May the 4th be with you!… Do you get it now?
First up, we have Rey’s Portion bread! I was absolutely sure, as many others were, that this particular scene was achieved with special effects/CGI. However, the film makers have since come out and said that not only is it real, but you can even make it yourself! Even actress Daisy Ridley has come out saying that it was real and tasted great! I can’t say for sure, as I have not tried it for myself, but she did the scene enough times, I’m sure she would know better than anybody! This recipe comes to us via polygon.com!
Here is what you’ll need to make Rey’s Portion Bread:
1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
4 tablespoons cake flour
1-1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon matcha powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons whole milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
This apparently takes just about 1 minute to complete, so even if it ends up being a disaster, what do you got to lose? Either way, this is a great way to start the day! For the full instructions, check out polygon.com. Enjoy! And May the 4th be with you!
