Who doesn’t love cake? It’s not that cake gets “boring,” but sometimes I feel like thinking outside the box a little bit. Sometimes, Id like to make a cake that isn’t an old standard with some new frosting. This cake fits the bill quite well. This recipe is for a wonderful Ooey Gooey Butter Cake and it comes out so moist and sweet, it’ll become a favorite to your family and friends!
You simply use a yellow cake mix and add butter, eggs, cream cheese, vanilla and confectionery sugar to it. You’ve got two layers that you’ll bake for just under an hour. You just want to turn the top to a golden brown, but leave the middle to an ooey gooey, almost raw consistency and the cake comes out so delicious that it’s hard to keep around. It’s so simple, but makes a dessert that will impress everyone!
Here’s what you need:
1 (16.5-ounce) package yellow cake mix
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, melted, divided
3 eggs, divided
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (16-ounce) package confectioners’ sugar
