With the summer months coming up, this “Rainbow Ribbon Cake”, this cake should be on your list of things to bake. It’s especially a great cake to make for a child’s birthday. Wouldn’t it be nice if he/she had this birthday cake to look back on as “The Best Cake EVER?” Well, all you do is trim off the top of the cakes, at that point, stir boiling water into each of the flavored gelatin, SPLASH the different colors all over the cakes. Cover cakes separately with plastic wrap and refrigerate four (4) hours.
Here is what you’ll need to make Rainbow Ribbon Cake:
For the cake:
1 (18.25-ounce) box white cake mix (recommended: Betty Crocker)
1 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup canola oil (recommended: Wesson)
3 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon each flavored gelatin: lemon, orange, cherry, grape, lime, and blue raspberry (recommended: Jell-O)
2 cups boiling waterFor decoration:
2 (12-ounce) cans white whipped icing (recommended: Betty Crocker)
Colored decorating icing: yellow, orange, red, purple, green, blue (recommended: Cake Mate)
