With the holidays on the way, if you’re like me, you’re looking for some different recipes for your yearly festive get togethers. Here’s one I think you should try, it’s a recipe for a really wonderful spinach dip. Dips are often pretty popular in my family, so I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks this year!
I’ve made spinach dip before, but never with dry leek soup mix or water chestnuts, so I was curious to try it for myself. You would be hard pressed to find ingredients like that in any other dip for that matter, and you know how much I like trying new things, so this is right in my wheelhouse. It’s such an easy recipe, too– another plus.
You just put all the ingredients together, mix and then refrigerate it overnight. Then if you would like, hollow out the bread and fill it with the spinach dip. Cut up the bread that you removed to be used for dipping and BAM, you have yourself one awesome, edible centerpiece. The flavor of this dip is really a great and addicting. It will make a perfect appetizer for this holiday season!
Here’s what you need:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 (1.8 ounce) package dry leek soup mix
1 (4 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1/2 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 (1 pound) loaf round sourdough bread
