This has got to be the best smoothie I ever had! If you would like to try this Chocolate Covered Wine Smoothie, by all means make it ASAP while the weather is still warm, so you can enjoy it to its fullest.
I had this smoothie at my friend’s house and believe me it was very refreshing and berry-licious. It is also good with rum instead if wine. I found that out the hard way…when the wine ran out, my friend replaced it with rum. Either way is fine really. Use whatever you prefer. Between the strawberries and chocolate you couldn’t really taste the rum…thou she didn’t make them that strong…but after 4 smoothies…well, it’s a good thing we got together early in the day!
Here’s what you need:
- 1 (8 ounce) bag frozen strawberries
- 2 cups light bodied red wine (I LOVE entwine)
- 2-3 tablespoons chocolate sauce (I used Hershey)
- For garnish: hot fudge, strawberries, and blackberries
I don’t like having the SEEDS from the strawberries…so I would STRAIN THE STRAWBERRIES FIRST…before you add the chocolate and wine/rum so this way you will have seedless smoothie.
