I love pecan pie! It will always be one of my favorites, however, only in small doses because of how sweet and heavy it is. Still, I guess you could say its a guilty pleasure. Now when it comes to this dish, I should point out that I’m not a drinker (believe it or not, no one in my family is, lucky us!) and I don’t really like Bourbon at all. So it should mean something when I say that this pie was SO GOOD that I had to force myself to stop before I ate the whole thing! Thank you Food Network for bringing something new to my table once again! The bourbon actually adds a good flavor and becomes hardly noticeable after you bake the alcohol out of it (think Penne alla vodka) which is great for someone like me!
Here is what you’ll need to make Bourbon Pecan Pie:
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
3 large eggs, beaten
1 1/2 to 2 cups pecan halves
2 tablespoons good-quality bourbon
1 (9-inch) deep-dish pie shell, unbaked
It’s a very good and very quick and easy recipe. If you have a special occasion coming up, or a party, or you just have a sweet tooth and want to try something new, try this out! Head over to Food Network for the full instructions. Enjoy!
